Signage

For many healthcare tenants, signage is an integral component of their facility.   Maximizing visibility with building or other exterior signage, such as monuments or pylons– and efficiency with interior signage to help find people find their way once inside – is critical as facilities seek to improve access, patient flow and brand recognition for the facility.

A landlord's "standard" lease doesn't specifically include signage elements which may be important to your facility.  Tenants should be as specific about their signage requirements–including size, position, and graphics – as possible and negotiate for the right to make changes in the future as needs arise.

While building ownership may impose restrictions in relation other tenants’ or the landlord’s own signage, and exterior and exit signage must comply with applicable local and state codes and regulations, tenants can negotiate for alternative concessions -- for instance, inside directory or  wayfinding signage.
